Role Summary 

A Field Service Manager is responsible for the management of several Wireline crews. The Field Service Manager ensures well site service and performance is at standard for clients. In this role maintaining engagement with all stakeholders throughout the job process is essential.

Reporting Line 

The Field Service Manager will report directly to the District Manager 

Primary job functions

  • Schedule available personnel and equipment effectively to meet all client requirements.
  • Manages the training, development of Wireline supervisors and operators.
  • Perform any field service required for effective operations.
  • Manage and submit all operational, safety and personnel related paperwork to appropriate authority within established deadlines.
  • Provide quality control on all wireline jobs at location.
  • Investigate and perform follow-up activities in case of problems in field operations to include safety and quality incidents related to service delivery.
  • Manages customer relationship communicating with the client on operational requirements, technical job data, detailed job planning and follow-up, performance feedback and any service quality related issues for assigned jobs.
  • Identify the risk of operations that do not follow established job designs, procedures or standards and manage; inform Operations Manager of risk identified as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implements plans accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with Company HSE standards.
  • Adhere and remain apprised of all Company procedures, ensuring full adherence to all phases of the job.
  • Any other duties as assigned. 
  • Job Requirements and skillS
  • Education
  • High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred


  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of Wireline experience 

Skill Sets/Competency

  • Five (5) years or more technical knowledge in wireline field operations
  • Must demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong MS-Office skills; will frequently use standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones
  • Ability to write reports and understand documents such as technical manuals, operation instructions, policy manuals, etc.
  • Ability to apply advanced math skills to practical situations
  • Ability to solve problems in practical field 
  • Work Hours
  • Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; must be able to work after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends, as needed
  • May be required to visit other locations, overnight stay is required

    Work Environment/Location

    Odessa, TX; 50% Field/50% Office.

The job may require occasional standing, walking for periods of 12 + hours per day and lifting up to 50 lbs.
