Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition and Retention Specialist will partner with the Division HR Managers and Division management teams to develop, implement and manage a comprehensive talent acquisition and retention program in the Permian Basin. 

Reporting Line

The Talent Acquisition and Retention Specialist will report to the VP of HR. The Talent Acquisition and Retention Specialist will report indirectly to the Division Presidents.

  • Develops a comprehensive strategic recruiting plan, as well as targeted recruiting plans, in collaboration with Division HR Managers and Division management teams to address current and future workforce needs in the Permian Basin.
  • Introduces creative and innovative recruitment methodologies including social media and other platforms, web based job boards, and other venues aimed at effectively reaching target audience.
  • Partners with secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, community organizations and programs to develop candidates for employment.
  • Maintains a visible professional presence in the community, performs community outreach, cultivates and maintains relationships with various community agencies, and represents QES at various career fairs and community events.
  • Identifies recruitment and retention barriers and recommends new and improved methods, resources and strategies to attract and retain talent.
  • Conducts research on industry standard compensation and benefit programs.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of recruitment and retention activities by compiling and analyzing data.
  • Prepares reports to measure results, effectiveness and return on investments.
  • Maintains and protects confidential data.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications and Skills 

Education Requirements (Minimum and Preferred) 

  • High School Diploma Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred 

Experience (Minimum and Preferred) 

  • Minimum 7 years related recruiting experience, preferably in oilfield services.

Skill Sets/Competency (i.e., Computer, Communication, Leadership) 

  • Team player with strong drive to create positive work environment.
  • Comfortable with high level workload and able to manage multiple priorities, ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong internal and external customer services focus.
  • Detail oriented. 

Work Hours

8am to 5pm with minimal overtime; however, hours may vary.  

Work Environment/Location (i.e., Office, Shop, Field or Combination)

This position is located in Midland/Odessa, Texas; however, the Talent Acquisition and Retention Specialist may be required to visit and work at other Company locations.
